In the January-July period of this year, the total raw coal output of
China's Inner Mongolia region totaled 601 million mt, up 13.3 percent year on year, according to statistics released by the Inner Mongolia Economy and Information Commission (IMEIC). In July alone, Inner Mongolia produced 84 million mt of raw coal, up three percent compared to July last year.
Meanwhile, in the first seven months of this year, Inner Mongolia's total crude steel output amounted to 10,530,000 mt, up 9.9 percent year on year. In July, crude steel output in Inner Mongolia was 1,466,000 mt, up 3.2 percent on year-on-year basis.
Based on figures from
China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), in January-July this year Inner Mongolia ranked first in terms of raw coal output in
China, followed by Shanxi Province with 530 million mt, up 10.2 percent year on year. In the given period, Inner Mongolia ranked 12th among Chinese provinces or regions in terms of crude steel
production.
