Industrial production in Argentina soars in January

Buenos Aires, Argentina-based local economic reporter Fiel announced Wednesday that Argentina's industrial production index rose 7.1 percent in January. The largest gain came from the vehicle manufacturing sector, which surged 48 percent year-over-year in January.

Government data shows that annual industrial production output increased 9.7 percent in 2010, compared to a 0.4 percent growth increase in 2009.
