Indonesia's steel import value down 5.77 percent in 2013

According to the data announced by Statistics Indonesia (BPS), in December last year the value of Indonesia's steel imports increased by 14.90 percent compared to November, amounting to $693.4 million, while the country's import value for articles of iron and steel increased by 12.48 percent month on month to $372.9 million.
 
In 2013, the value of Indonesia's steel imports amounted to $9.55 billion, falling 5.77 percent compared to 2012, while the value of the country's imports of articles of iron and steel amounted to $4.75 billion, down 2.91 percent year on year.
