Indonesia's iron and steel import value down 18.5 percent in Jan-Sept

According to the data announced by Statistics Indonesia (BPS), in September this year the value of Indonesia's iron and steel imports increased by 7.76 percent compared to the previous month, amounting to $609.9 million, while the country's import value for articles of iron and steel increased by 12.59 percent month on month to $380.9 million.
 
In the January-September period of the current year, Indonesia's iron and steel import value amounted to $6.16 billion, falling 18.45 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, while the country's import value for articles of iron and steel amounted to $3.22 billion, down 12.07 percent year on year.
