India’s Directorate General for Antidumping and Allied Duties (DGAD) has announced its final results regarding the antidumping (AD) duty investigation on imports of hot rolled (HR) flat products of alloy or non-alloy steel originating in or exported from China, Japan, South Korea, Russia, Brazil and Indonesia.

The DGAD has recommended final AD duty rates equivalent to the difference between the realized import prices and the minimum reference prices of $478/mt and $489/mt for hot rolled coil imports from South Korea and the minimum reference price of $489/mt for HRC imports from Japan, China, Russia, Brazil and Indonesia. Meanwhile, for hot rolled sheet and plate imports from the six countries, the DGAD has recommended final AD duty rates equivalent to the difference between the realized import prices and the minimum reference price of $561/mt.

The investigation was launched in April last year upon a complaint received from Indian producers Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), JSW Steel Limited and Essar Steel India Limited.

The products in question currently fall under Customs Tariff Statistics Position Numbers 7208, 7211, 7225 and 7226.
