India’s crude steel production up 4.6 percent in July

India’s domestic crude steel production in July this year recorded a growth of 4.6 percent to 8.45 million mt, compared to the corresponding month of the previous year, according to a report issued by India’s Ministry of Steel on Wednesday, August 16.

The data showed that total Indian crude steel production during the first four months ended July 31 of the financial year 2017-18 was 33 million mt or 3.8 percent higher than the same period of the previous financial year.

India’s production of finished steel in July was recorded by the ministry at 8.256 million mt, up nine percent year on year.
