India's basic metal output up 7.9 percent in April

In April this year, India's industrial production increased by 3.4 percent year on year, according to government data.

Production in India's manufacturing sector decreased by 2.6 percent in April compared to the same month of the previous year.
 
The industrial output index in India's basic metal sector in April this year increased by 7.9 percent, while the output index for fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, rose by 8.9 percent, both on year-on-year basis.
 
On the other hand, the output of the industry segment of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers declined by 14.6 percent year on year in April.
