In September this year,
India's industrial
production increased by 2.5 percent year on year, according to government data. Industrial
production in the April-September period of the current fiscal year (started April 1) increased by 2.8 percent year on year.
Production in
India's
manufacturing sector increased by 2.5 percent in September compared to the same month of the previous year, while in the April-September period of the current fiscal year the Indian
manufacturing sector saw a two percent year-on-year rise in output.
The industrial output index in
India's basic metal sector in September this year increased by 12.3 percent, while the output index for fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, increased by 2.7 percent, both on year-on-year basis. Meanwhile, in the April-September period of the current fiscal year, the output index for basic metals increased by 13.6 percent, while the output index for fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, increased by 0.1 percent, both compared to the corresponding period of the previous financial year.
On the other hand, the output of the industry segment of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers increased by 9.3 percent year on year in September and decreased by 1.8 percent in the April-September period, both compared to the corresponding period of the previous financial year.
