Indian producer Iisco to expand capacity

Burnpur-based steel producer Indian Iron & Steel Co Ltd (Iisco) is reportedly planning to increase its liquid steel production capacity from 500'000 tons to 1 million tons with an investment of Rupees 4-5 billion ($86.3-108 million). It is stated that capacity expansion is in its initial stages and the final stages will be completed by Iisco and Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL). In the second stage, Iisco plans to increase its liquid steel production capacity to 2 million tons by 2012.
