Indian motor vehicle output up 14.18 percent in May

In May this year, Indian motor vehicle production increased by 14.18 percent year on year to 1,990,010 units, according to the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM).

In May, passenger vehicle sales in India decreased by 3.46 percent, while the commercial vehicles segment registered a fall of 19.69 percent in sales, both on year-on-year basis.

Meanwhile, in May this year, India's total motor vehicle exports increased by 22.23 percent year on year. Passenger vehicle exports in the given month registered a year-on-year increase of 0.87 percent, while commercial vehicle exports increased by 20.80 percent, both on year-on-year basis.
