Indian motor vehicle output increases further in August

In August this year, Indian motor vehicle production increased by 14.86 percent year on year to 1,943,134 units, according to the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM).
In the first five months of the current Indian fiscal year (started April 1, 2014), passenger vehicle sales in India increased by 4.46 percent compared to the same period of the previous fiscal year, while the country's commercial vehicles segment registered a fall of 13.66 percent in sales, both on year-on-year basis.

Meanwhile, in the first five months of the current Indian fiscal year, India's total motor vehicle exports increased by 21.3 percent year on year. Passenger vehicle exports registered a year-on-year increase of 0.17 percent, while commercial vehicle exports increased by 16.51 percent, both on year-on-year basis.
