India's largest iron ore exporter Sesa Goa Ltd. has issued its third quarter (ended December 31) results for the fiscal year 2009-10, reporting that the company's net income rose 76 percent compared to the corresponding period of 2008, from Rupees 4.71 billion ($102 million) to Rupees 8.28 billion ($180 million).
Net sales income in the third quarter rose 37 percent to Rupees 20.54 billion ($448 million) from Rupees 14.93 billion ($326 million) during the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year.
The sales revenues in the first nine months of the current fiscal year rose to Rupees 38.5 billion ($840 million) from Rupees 37.2 billion ($812 million) in the same period of the previous fiscal year, recording a three percent increase.
The net profit in the first nine months of the fiscal year saw a marginal decrease, dropping from Rupees 14.4 billion ($314 million) to Rupees 14.2 billion ($309 million), recording a two percent decline.
