Indian iron ore output down 30.9 percent in October

A decline in production of coal and iron ore resulted in a reduction in the total value of mineral production (excluding atomic and minor minerals) in the country during October this year, to INR 145 billion ($2.75 billion), according to Indian media sources.
 
India's October coal production fell to 40 million mt from 43.9 million mt a year ago and iron ore output stood at 10.5 million mt, falling from 15.2 million mt recorded in October last year.

Meanwhile in October, India's coal and iron ore output contributed INR 37.84 billion ($717.87 million) and INR 23.21 billion ($440 million) respectively, to the total value of mineral production during the month under review, decreasing compared to INR 40.51 billion ($768.5 million) and INR 26.02 billion ($493.6 million) recorded in October last year.
