The Indian government has officially announced the imposition of definitive antidumping (AD) duty on hot rolled coil (HRC) of alloy and non-alloy products imported from China, Japan, South Korea, Russia, Brazil and Indonesia.

The antidumping duty rates for the flat products equivalent to the difference between the realized import prices and the minimum reference prices ranging between $478/mt and $561/mt will be effective for a period of five years effective from August 8, 2016, when a provisional antidumping duty was imposed on the products.

According to a government official, the antidumping duty on HRC provisionally imposed in August 2016 was being periodically extended by the government, with the last extension lapsing on April 10 this year.
