India's Steel Minister Ram Vilas Paswan said on Tuesday that the Central Government is considering of imposing curbs on the export of iron ore to conserve reserves and protect interests of domestic steelmakers. The Minister commented that continuation of currently unabated iron ore exports would jeopardize the future of the domestic steel industry. However, Mr. Ram Vilas Paswan made it clear that ore exports at the current level would be allowed to continue to serve the usual quota of 78 million tons.
