Import volumes swell at Port of Long Beach in April

The Port of Long Beach, located in Long Beach, California, reported Thursday that the port moved 531,090 twenty-foot equivalent container units (TEUs) in April-up 9.5 percent from 485,059 TEUs during the same period a year ago. An increase in imports led the increase as the port handled 270,107 import TEUs in April- almost 30,000 TEUs more than the same period last year.

Export volumes rose as well according to the Port of Long Beach, rising 10.4 percent year-on-year to 143,683 TEUs.
