Import coal price in Guangzhou reaches $90.8/mt in May

According to the figures released by the customs authorities in the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou, in May this year the volume of coal imported via Guangzhou rose by 85.4 percent month on month, reaching 3.432 million mt, Meanwhile, the average price of coal imports at Guangzhou in the given month was $90.8/mt - the highest in the current year, exceeding the January level of $89.1/mt.

Guangzhou customs also announced that the coal import volume at Guangzhou in the first five months of the current year decreased by 16.1 percent year on year to 9.973 million mt. The average coal import price for the period was $88.4/mt, up 14.4 percent year on year.
