Ilyich’s rolled steel output declines by nine percent in H1

Ukrainian steelmaker Ilyich Iron and Steel Works of Mariupol (Ilyich), a subsidiary of Ukraine's largest vertically-integrated mining and steel group Metinvest, has announced that in the January-June period of the current year its output of rolled steel products decreased by nine percent year on year to 1.937 million mt.

Ilyich's crude steel production in the given period fell 13.7 percent to 2.210 million mt, while its pig iron production rose by 11.4 percent to 2.633 million mt, both year on year.

In June alone, the company produced 340,000 mt of rolled steel products, 389,000 mt of crude steel and 459,000 mt of pig iron.

In July this year, the company plans to produce 391,000 mt of crude steel, 466,000 mt of pig iron and 1.150 million mt of agglomerate.
