Ilyich’s crude steel output up 35 percent in January-July

In the first seven months of the current year, the Ukrainian flat steel producer Ilyich Iron and Steel Works of Mariupol (Ilyich) saw its crude steel production rise by 35 percent to 3.103 million mt as compared to the same period last year.

In addition, in January-July this year, Ilyich's finished steel product output went up by 28.7 percent to 2.11 million mt, its pig iron production increased by 36 percent to 2.638 million mt, its agglomerate production grew by 45.3 percent to 6.24 million mt, while its steel pipe output increased by 2.4 times to 47,500 mt, all compared to January-July 2009.

In July this year, Ilyich produced 420,000 mt of crude steel, 283,000 mt of finished steel products, 361,000 mt of pig iron, 849,000 mt of agglomerate, and 3,900 mt of steel pipes.
