Ilyich reports production results for Jan-Sep 2006
According to its preliminary production data for the January-September 2006 period, the Ukrainian Ilyich Iron and Steel Works of Mariupol (Ilyich) increased production of finished steel products by 2.9 percent, raised production of crude steel by 2.3 percent, and increased the production of both pipes and pig iron by 5.4 percent year on year. The respective figures in metric tons were 3.9 million, 5.2 million, 75,600 and 4 million. During the period in question, however, the enterprise experienced a reduction in its agglomerate output by 15.8 percent, producing 8.4 million metric tons. In September alone, Ilyich produced 423,000 metric tons of finished steel products, 560,000 metric tons of crude steel, 445,000 metric tons of pig iron, 892,000 metric tons of agglomerate and 7,100 metric tons of pipes.
