Today, August 3, the Court of Taranto stated that by August 9 it will make its final determination regarding the case of Taranto-based Italian steelmaker Ilva.

The company's lawyers have filed a complaint against the closure ordered by magistrates of the blast furnaces and coke ovens of the steel producer and against the house arrest of company officials. The magistrates last week ordered the partial closure of the plant and the arrest of officials, as they judged that fumes and dust particles from the steel works endangered the health of thousands of workers and local residents.
