Italian steel producer Ilva has announced that it is completing maintenance and decontamination work at its quarto plate mill located at Taranto in southern Italy and that it will resume production at the beginning of June this year. The quarto plate mill was temporarily shut down for the scheduled maintenance works on the company’s blast furnace No. 2 at the mill.

According to Ilva’s statement, with the restarting of the plant, which will initially work for around a month and a half, it expects to see an appreciable increase in the workforce needed to run it.
