While filing a €400 million environmental investment plan with the Court of Taranto, Ilva’s chairman Bruno Ferrante has formally requested Franco Sebastio, the chief prosecutor of Taranto, to grant a permit to keep production activities partially running.

Ilva chairman stated that the company acknowledges the court decision regarding to shut down some plants, however he emphasized that the company needs to keep a minimum production level to be able to carry out the required environmental upgrade.

Meanwhile, the prosecutor Franco Sebastio explained that the current order indicates a total production halt for the plant and any requests regarding an alteration to the verdict must be evaluated by the judge who signed the verditc, Patrizia Todisco in this case.
