On October 18, South Korean steelmaker Hyundai Steel began to conduct repair works at its steel plate plant at its Dangjin works.

The repair works in question will continue for 10 days and will result in a shortfall of 30,000-40,000 mt in steel plate output. It is thought that inventory of steel plate in the domestic market may accordingly be affected.
