Hongtai Iron & Steel to cut 2 million mt of steel capacity in 2017

Jiangsu Province-based Chinese steel producer Jiangsu Hongtai Iron & Steel Co., Ltd has announced that it will permanently shut down ten 40-ton intermediate frequency melting furnaces before the end of the current month of February. Overall, the company will eliminate 2 million mt of steelmaking capacity in 2017.
