Finnish steelmaker Outokumpu has announced that it has received a warning from Helsinki stock exchange, NASDAQ OMX Helsinki, concerning a breach of rules related to disclosure requirements in connection with the announcement on January 31, 2012 of its planned acquisition of Inoxum, the stainless steel division of German steel producer ThyssenKrupp AG.

Outokumpu stated that the company has made all efforts to provide as timely, comprehensive and accurate information as possible, especially taking into account the size, complexity and significance of the acquisition. The company indicated that it is the complexity of the transaction that led to discrepancy in the communication timeline between the parties involved in the transaction.
