Hebei Steel Mining gets approval for iron ore mine acquisitions

On October 16, Hebei Province-based Chinese steelmaker Hebei Iron and Steel Group announced that its subsidiary Hebei Iron and Steel Group Mining has received approval from China's Ministry of Land and Resources for the acquisition of the Macheng and Changyu iron ore mines which are both located in Hebei. The acquisitions will result in an increase of 1.0794 billion mt in the iron ore reserves held by Hebei Iron and Steel Group Mining, including 954.4 million mt at the Macheng mine and 125 million mt at the Changyu mine.
