Hebei Province to cut 14.22 million mt of steel capacity in 2016

Wang Xiaodong, deputy governor of China’s Hebei Province, has stated at the 22nd session of the 12th Standing Committee of the Hebei Province People’s Congress that Hebei Province cut 6.09 million mt of iron-making capacity, 7.51 million mt of steelmaking capacity and five million mt of coal production capacity in 2015, while it will cut 17.26 million mt of iron-making capacity, 14.22 million mt of steelmaking capacity and 13.09 million mt of coal production capacity in the current year.
