Heavy rains this week have affected steel production at Venezuela’s Siderurgica del Orinoco, Sidor.

According to a media report, the rains flooded the company’s refractory zone 1, and caused damages to the company’s billet melt shop.

The company’s melt shops kept minimum production levels, according to the media report, which added the heavy rains caused the electrical system at the mill to fail, limiting the distribution of water for both the administrative and operational areas.
