Gulf Steel to construct rebar mill

Saudi Arabian steelmaker Gulf Steel is going to construct a rebar plant in Askar, Bahrain. The rebar mill which will have seven-strand, will produce bars with diameters ranging between 12 and 32 mm. The company expects to start construction in December 2003. After this project, the company aims to produce angles and flats. It is forecasted that the annual production capacity will be approximately 40'000 tons. However, the company aims to reach a maximum capacity of 75'000 tons.
