The Shanxi Coking Industry Association in China has announced its guideline coke price for August at RMB 1,880/mt, up by RMB 170/mt from the July level. An official from the Shanxi Coking Industry Association stated that, due to the tight availability and lofty price levels of coking coal, Shanxi Province-based coking enterprises have suffered heavy losses since the beginning of July.

Meanwhile, the Hebei Coking Industry Association has also raised its August guideline prices by RMB 150-200/mt. After the change, the ex-factory price of second grade coke is at RMB 1,850/mt for August, while that of first grade coke stands at RMB 1,900/mt for the same month.
