One of the world's leading engineering and plant-building companies, Siemens Metals Technologies (Siemens), has announced the receipt of an order from United Arab Emirates-based Gulf Steel Construction Industries (GSIC) for the supply of a new rebar mill.

The new mill will be constructed in the Mussaffah Industrial Area of Abu Dhabi, and will have an annual production capacity of 400,000 metric tons of rebar and plain rounds.

The mill is scheduled to be completed by the beginning of 2009.

Although Siemens have not disclosed the exact value of the contract, the company states that it is worth a figure of several million euro.
