Go ahead for largest project in northwestern China

Sources report that Jiuquan Steel's RMB 10.97 billion ($1.36 billion) worth product structure adjustment project got approval from the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC). This project includes a two million metric tons hot rolling line and a 530,000 metric tons stainless steel production line, being the largest industrial project in Gansu Province. The project is also the largest iron and steel project in northwestern China. After completion, Jiuquan Steel's annual production capacity of pig iron, crude steel and rolled steel will reach 4.4 million metric tons, 4.9 million metric tons and 4.4 million metric tons respectively.
