Germany’s passenger car production up 12 percent in 2010

According to the data released by the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA), Germany's passenger car output in December 2010 rose by 18 percent year on year to 413,500 units.

During the month in question, new passenger car registrations in Germany increased by seven percent year on year to 230,400 units, while passenger car exports rose by 11 percent year on year reaching 324,400 units.

In the whole of 2010, Germany's total passenger car output reached 5,551,400 units, up 12 percent, passenger car exports amounted to 4,235,400 units, up 24 percent, while new registrations decreased by 23 percent to 2,916,300 units, all compared to 2009.
