Germany’s iron ore import prices nearly double in November

According to a report released by the German Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), in November this year the import price of iron ore increased by 99.1 percent year on year in Germany, while it declined by 1.6 percent as compared to October.

Meanwhile, in November, nickel imported by Germany for steel production was 45.6 percent more expensive compared to November 2009 and was up 0.6 percent compared to the previous month.

In the month in question, the import price of pig iron, steel and ferroalloys in Germany rose by 29 percent year on year, while the month-on-month increase rate was recorded at 0.6 percent.
