Germany’s crude steel output down two percent in April

In April this year, Germany's crude steel output decreased by nearly two percent to 3.64 million metric tons compared to the same month of 2014, according to the information provided by the German steel federation Wirtschaftsvereinigung Stahl (WV Stahl). Meanwhile, in the January-April period, the country's crude steel output decreased by two percent year on year to 14.7 million metric tons.

On the other hand, in March this year, Germany's total hot rolled steel product output amounted to 3.45 million metric tons, indicating an increase of 3.8 percent, including 2.25 million metric tons of flat steel products - up 2.2 percent, and 1.2 million metric tons of long steel products - up 6.9 percent, all on month-on-month basis.

Meanwhile, in the first quarter of this year, the country's total hot rolled steel product output amounted to 9.65 million metric tons, indicating an increase of 2.9 percent, including 6.27 million metric tons of flat steel products - up 0.6 percent, and 3.8 million metric tons of long steel products - up 2.9 percent, all compared to the same period of 2014.
