Germany's commercial vehicle output up 15 percent in March

In March this year, commercial vehicle registrations in the German market totaled 37,542 units, up 47.2 percent month on month and increasing by 17 percent year on year, according to the data released by the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA). Meanwhile, in the first three months of this year, Germany's commercial vehicle registrations increased by seven percent year on year, totaling 87,806 units.
 
According to the VDA, in March 31,870 commercial vehicles rolled off production lines in Germany, which represents a month-on-month increase of 19.3 percent and a year-on-year rise of 15 percent. German commercial vehicle output in the January-March period amounted to 76,500 units, declining five percent compared to the same period last year.
 
In the given month, a total of 23,400 commercial vehicles were exported from Germany, up by 14.1 percent month on month and increasing by eight percent compared to March last year. In the first three months of the current year, German commercial vehicle exports amounted to 56,900 units, declining by eight percent on year-on-year basis.
