German manufacturing turnover up 0.4% in Jan over Dec

In January this year, the seasonally adjusted turnover in the German manufacturing industry rose by 0.4 percent compared to the previous month, following a month-on-month decrease of 1.4 percent in December, according to the preliminary data reported by Germany's Federal Statistical Office (Destatis).

In January, the turnover of German metal and metal product manufacturing remained stable as compared to December, with domestic sales increasing by 1.3 percent while foreign sales were down by 2.5 percent month on month. Meanwhile, a 1.3 percent month-on-month increase was recorded in the turnover in manufacture of fabricated metal products, with domestic sales falling by 0.6 percent and foreign sales up by 5.7 percent, both compared to the previous month.
