German crude steel output down 3.9 percent in September

In September this year, Germany's crude steel output amounted to 3.38 million metric tons, falling by 3.9 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, according to the information provided by the German steel federation Wirtschaftsvereinigung Stahl (WV Stahl). In the January- September period, crude steel production in Germany remained almost stable at 32.57 million mt.
 
Meanwhile, in August Germany's total hot rolled steel product output amounted to 2.73 million metric tons, increasing 2.3 percent year on year, including 1.96 million metric tons of flat steel products - up 1.4 percent year on year, and 772,000 metric tons of long steel products - up 4.7 percent year on year. 
 
In the first eight months of the year, the country's hot rolled steel output increased by 1.9 percent to 25.07 million mt, consisting of 16.5 million metric tons of flat steel products - up 1.1 percent year on year, and 8.54 million metric tons of long steel products - rising by 3.7 percent year on year.
