As reported by Germany's Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), in June this year the producer prices of industrial products in Germany rose by 1.6 percent compared to June 2011 prices and were down slightly by 0.4 percent compared to May of the current year.
The office noted that in June this year energy was more expensive by around 2.8 percent compared with the same month of the previous year, but was down 1.4 percent month on month. Without considering energy, producer prices were up one percent on year-on-year basis and fell slightly by 0.1 percent compared to May.
In June, prices of intermediate goods increased slightly by 0.1 percent, while rolled steel prices fell by 6.3 percent, both compared to the same month of 2011.
