German new vehicle registrations up 6.85 percent in January

In January this year, new vehicle registrations (including cars and commercial vehicles) in the German market totaled 226,520 units, down by 7.47 month on month and up by 6.85 percent year on year, according to the data released by the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA).
 
However, during January this year a total of 338,700 new cars were exported, up 9.01 percent compared to January 2013 and up 18.39 percent month on month.
 
According to the VDA, in January of the current year 442,600 cars rolled off production lines in Germany, which represents a year-on-year increase of 11.31 percent.
