In April this year, the seasonally and working-day adjusted turnover in the German manufacturing industry fell by 1.3 percent compared to the previous month, following a month-on-month increase of 0.4 percent in March, according to the preliminary data reported by Germany's Federal Statistical Office (Destatis).
In April, the turnover of German metal and metal product manufacturing increased 1.7 percent as compared to March, with domestic sales increasing by 1.7 percent, while foreign sales were up by 1.9 percent, month on month. Meanwhile, a 0.4 percent month-on-month increase was recorded in the turnover in manufacture of fabricated metal products, with domestic sales increasing 0.3 percent and foreign sales up by 0.8 percent, both compared to the previous month.
