German metal manufacturing turnover down 2% in Mar from Feb

In March this year, the seasonally and working-day adjusted turnover in the German manufacturing industry decreased by 0.6 percent compared to February, according to the preliminary data reported by Germany's Federal Statistical Office (Destatis). The working day adjusted turnover in the German manufacturing sector in March this year increased by 2.6 percent compared to March 2013. Meanwhile, in the first three months of this year, the turnover in the German manufacturing industry increased by 4.4 percent on year-on-year basis.

In March of the current year, the turnover of German metal and metal product manufacturing decreased by two percent from February, with domestic sales decreasing by 1.9 percent and foreign sales down by 2.2 percent, month on month. In March, an increase of 0.1 percent was recorded in the turnover in manufacture of fabricated metal products in Germany, with domestic sales increasing by 0.2 percent and foreign sales remaining unchanged, both compared to the previous month.
