In March this year, the seasonally and working-day adjusted turnover in the German manufacturing industry rose slightly by 0.2 percent compared to the previous month, following a month-on-month increase of 1.2 percent in February, according to the preliminary data reported by Germany's Federal Statistical Office (Destatis).
In March, the turnover of German metal and metal product manufacturing increased 0.8 percent as compared to February, with domestic sales increasing by 0.5 percent, while foreign sales were up by 1.3 percent, month on month. Meanwhile, a 0.9 percent month-on-month increase was recorded in the turnover in manufacture of fabricated metal products, with domestic sales remaining stable and foreign sales up by 2.8 percent, both compared to the previous month.
