German iron ore import prices up 3.7% in May from Apr

According to a report released by the German Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), in May this year the import price of iron ore decreased by 17.9 percent year on year in Germany, while it was up 3.7 percent as compared to April this year. In May, the import price of nickel fell by 21.5 percent compared to the same month of last year and was down by 1.4 percent month on month.

In May, the average import price of pig iron, steel and ferroalloys in Germany fell by 7.6 percent year on year, but remained more or less stable compared to the previous month with a month-on-month decrease of just 0.1 percent.
