German iron ore import prices fall sharply in April

According to a report released by the German Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), in April this year the import price of iron ore decreased by 20.2 percent year on year in Germany, while it was down 2.3 percent as compared to March this year. In April, the import price of nickel fell by 24.6 percent compared to the same month of last year and was down by 6.6 percent month on month.

In April, the average import price of pig iron, steel and ferroalloys in Germany fell by eight percent year on year, but remained more or less stable compared to the previous month with a month-on-month increase of just 0.1 percent.
