German iron ore import prices down 24.5 percent in 2015

According to a report released by the German Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), in December last year the import price of iron ore in Germany decreased by 21.2 percent year on year and was down 9.4 percent month on month. In 2015, the import price of iron ore was down by 24.5 percent compared to 2014.
 
In December, the average import price of iron and steel and ferroalloys in Germany decreased by 11.3 percent year on year and was down 1.2 percent as compared to November. In 2015, the average import price of iron and steel and ferroalloys decreased by 5.5 percent on year-on-year basis.
 
Meanwhile, in December last year the import price of nickel decreased by 33 percent year on year and was down by 5.3 percent month on month. In 2015, the import price of nickel fell by 11.9 percent year on year.
