German crude steel output up 3.6 percent in July

In July this year, Germany's crude steel output decreased by 2.5 percent month on month to 3.5 million metric tons, rising by 3.6 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, according to the information provided by the German steel federation Wirtschaftsvereinigung Stahl (WV Stahl). In the January-July period of this year, crude steel production in Germany increased by 1.9 percent year on year to 25.7 million mt.

Meanwhile, in June Germany's total hot rolled steel product output amounted to 3.1 million metric tons, decreasing by 3.4 percent year on year, including 2.04 million metric tons of flat steel products - up 0.7 percent year on year, and 1.12 million metric tons of long steel products - decreasing by 10.1 percent year on year.

In the first half of this year, the country's hot rolled steel output rose 2.9 percent to 19.3 million mt, consisting of 12.6 million metric tons of flat steel products - up 3.8 percent year on year, and 6.7 million metric tons of long steel products - rising by 1.3 percent year on year.
