In October this year, Germany's crude steel output increased by eight percent month on month to 3.5 million metric tons, falling by 3.7 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, according to the information provided by the German steel federation Wirtschaftsvereinigung Stahl (WV Stahl). In the first ten months of this year, crude steel production in Germany decreased by 1.9 percent year on year to 35.52 million mt.
Meanwhile, in September Germany's total hot rolled steel product output amounted to 3.04 million metric tons, decreasing by 2.2 percent year on year, including 1.97 million metric tons of flat steel products - up 1.5 percent year on year, and 1.07 million metric tons of long steel products - down 8.3 percent year on year.
In the first nine months of the year, the country's hot rolled steel output decreased by 1.8 percent to 27.67 million mt, consisting of 18.17 million metric tons of flat steel products - down 1.6 percent year on year, and 9.5 million metric tons of long steel products - falling by 2.2 percent year on year.
