German crude steel output down 1.4 percent in 2016

In December last year, Germany's crude steel output decreased by 3.2 percent month on month to 3.23 million metric tons, rising by 8.2 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, according to the information provided by the German steel federation Wirtschaftsvereinigung Stahl (WV Stahl). In 2016, crude steel production in Germany decreased by 1.4 percent year on year to 42.08 million mt.
 
Meanwhile, in November Germany's total hot rolled steel product output amounted to 3.13 million metric tons, increasing by eight percent year on year, including 2.03 million metric tons of flat steel products - up 14.8 percent year on year, and 1.1 million metric tons of long steel products - down 2.7 percent year on year. 
 
In the first 11 months of last year, the country's hot rolled steel output decreased by 0.8 percent to 33.93 million mt, consisting of 22.25 million metric tons of flat steel products - up 0.2 percent year on year, and 11.68 million metric tons of long steel products - falling by 2.8 percent year on year.
